AFROBEATS sensation Fireboy DML is poised to captivate global audiences with his forthcoming album, “Adedamola”, scheduled for release on Spotify on August 29.

Phiona Okumu, Spotify’s Head of Music for Sub-Saharan Africa, announced this in a statement on Wednesday.

Okumu expressed enthusiasm for the album, stating, “With a massive and devoted following across the globe, Fireboy DML’s music has resonated deeply with Spotify listeners, especially those aged 23 to 34.

“Adedamola’ promises to be a sonic journey that delves deeper into Fireboy DML’s artistry, blending infectious melodies, heartfelt lyrics, and captivating rhythms.

“The album is expected to further solidify Fireboy DML’s status as a global superstar and expand his already substantial fanbase.”

Okumu noted that Fireboy DML’s ability to connect with listeners through his music was undeniable, evoking a range of emotions and making him a relatable and beloved figure among fans worldwide.

Fireboy DML’s previous album, “Playboy”, has achieved remarkable success on Spotify, with over 700 million streams and features on more than 3.1 million playlists globally in the last 12 months.

Okumu hinted that Fireboy DML’s most streamed songs in the last 28 days were “Dealer”, “Peru”, “Bandana”, “Everyday”, and “Yawa”.

Fireboy DML shared his excitement about the album, stating, “Every single part of me went into this album.

“It is so personal, and it feels nostalgic, like a call to home. That’s why it’s titled ‘Adedamola’. I am excited to share it with the world.”
