Firm launches AI-powered platform for SMEs

A tech firm, Durubata Ltd., on Friday announced the  launch of  Appmint, a no-code Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered platform for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Africa.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Durubata Ltd., Mr Jacob Ajiboye, said at a news conference on Thursday  to unveil the platform  in Lagos that it was designed to empower startups, entrepreneurs and SMEs in Africa.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)  reports that a no-code platform is a software development tool that allows users to create applications without writing a code.

Ajiboye said that Appmint was committed to empowering Africa’s youths in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal 4:  Ensuring inclusive and quality education for all.

According to Ajiboye, Appmint offers free training programmes to equip young Africans with essential coding and development skills, creating a pipeline of future innovators ready to compete on the global stage.

“Additionally, we align with Sustainable Development Goal 8: Promoting decent work and economic growth.

‘’By fostering a culture of tech innovation and entrepreneurship, we are driving economic empowerment across the continent.

‘’Our initiatives provide African youths and startups with the skills, tools and opportunities they need to thrive in an increasingly digital world,’’ he said.

According to him, Appmint is a catalyst for transformation.

He said it aimed to equip businesses to scale, empower youths for the future, and create a tech ecosystem that would drive Africa’s growth and innovation.

Ajiboye added that Appmint provided an ecosystem that helped businesses to build websites, automate operations, manage customer relationships, and access data-driven insights.

He said that the unveiling of Appmint was a vision  rooted in the belief that Africa could lead in tech innovation when given the right tools and support.

According to him,  the firm understands that African entrepreneurs are some of the most resilient, adaptable and creative in the world.

Ajiboye said that, often, the drawback was not lack of ideas or talents but access to affordable and efficient tools that  would allow ideas to grow.

‘’What makes Appmint truly unique is our agile approach, we collaborate with startups to accelerate growth and bring ideas to life.

In a presentation, the Marketing Director of the firm, Mrs Seun Tayo-Balogun, highlighted the features of Appmint.

Tayo-Balogun said that Appmint aimed to bring the same level of efficiency, scalability, and innovation of tech infrastructure in developed countries to Nigerian and other African startups.

She added that Appmint addressed the unique challenges of our Africa.
