Flood: NEMA distributes relief materials to 45,577 households in Kogi

The National Emergency Management Agency ( NEMA) on Thursday said it had distributed relief materials to 45,577 households affected by the 2018 flood disaster in Kogi.
Mr Oluwatope Ajayi, Team Leader, Emergency Operation Centre B of the agency, who supervised the exercise, disclosed this in a statement in Lokoja.
He said victims from nine local government areas were identified, adding that Ibaji local government area had 27,337 households and Ofu, 1,220 households.
He also said that Ajaokuta local government areas had 2,691 households, Idah, 1,839, Igalamela, 1,267 and Kogi, 2,987 households.
Ajayi said the remaining areas include Lokoja with 2,605 households, while Omala and Bassa local government areas recorded 1,181 and 4,442 households, respectively.
He said assorted grain such as wheat, maize, beans, building and clothing materials, beverages, medicines, among others, were also distributed. (NAN)
