Flood: Ukodhiko’s wife visits, presents gifts items, cash to expectant, nursing mothers

THE wife of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) House of Representatives Candidate for Isoko Federal Constituency, Ivie Ukodhiko on Tuesday, visited and presented gift items to expectant, nursing mothers and their babies who were affected by the flood in Isoko.

Items presented by Mrs Ukodhiko at the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) Camp in Isoko Central School, Oleh, Oleh Community IDP Camp in Odoro Primary School, Oleh, both in Isoko South, and Alaka Grammar School, Ozoro in Isoko North were pampers, toiletries, baby wipes, feeding bottles, soaps, creams and cash. 

According to Mrs Ukodhiko, “I’m moved by the plights of the pregnant women, nursing mothers and babies at the various camps, their welfare, safety and comfort“

“As a mother, I feel the pains you are presently passing through in taking care of your new born babies at the camps here”

“And I am here today to encourage and sympathize with you all affected and displaced by the flood in Isoko. I care about you nursing mothers, and your babies. 

“Please, be assured, this present condition you are going through will not last long as there are signs that the flood would soon start receding and, you all will return to your various homes to take care of your babies properly. 

“I am very happy you joyfully accepted these token of gifts items to help in taking care of your babies in the camps. 

“Be assured, my husband, Pastor Jonathan Ukodhiko and I are with you all the way as we will continue to support with relief materials to assist in easing up the pains and suffering occasioned by the flood,”

Some of the nursing mothers, camps commandants, and the Chairman, Isoko North Council, Hon Christian Iteire, who spoke, thanked and commended Mrs Ukodhiko for her kindness, for bringing succor to the expectant, nursing mothers and their babies.
