Foreign militants’ commander killed in N. Afghanistan

A commander of foreign militants fighting in Afghanistan has been killed in the northern Faryab province, army spokesman in the northern region Mohammad Hanif Rezai said Thursday.

The security forces during operation against militants in Ghormach district which was launched early Thursday have killed several insurgents including “Aziz Yaldash the commander of foreign militants and injured his son named Hekmat,’’ the official said.

Without providing more details, the official asserted that the killed“ Yaldash was a strong supporter of the Taliban group and used to fight alongside the Taliban militants’’ in the northern region of Afghanistan.

Taliban outfit has repeatedly denied the presence of foreign militants in its rank. (Xinhua/NAN)
