LEBANESE President Michel Aoun  on Monday, said  the country is working on establishing direct flights between Sydney and Beirut.

Aoun made this known during his meeting with former Victorian Premier Steve Bracks in Lebanon.

“Lebanon is working on facilitating the trips of Australians and Lebanese origin to Lebanon by creating direct flights between Sydney and Beirut through the Middle East Airlines.’’

Aoun added that the direct flights which were created two years ago between Spain’s capital Madrid and Beirut help in facilitating the transport of people from different countries.

He emphasised the strong relations between Lebanon and Australia as well as Lebanon’s keenness to strengthen the ties further. (Xinhua/NAN)
