THE Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Service (NHFSS) in Kano State  received 163 complaints between January and December, 2023.

Mr Abdullahi Al-ameen, the Commander of the NHFSS in Kano, made this known on Wednesday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

He said the service is trying its best to leave up to its mandate, including prevention, detection of crimes and illegal activities perpetrated in the forests.

Al-ameen explained that out of the 163 complainants, 154 had been treated and done with, while nine were pending.

He also explained that most of the cases were on animal, car and tricycle thefts, debt, phone snatching, and farmer/header clash among others.

He added that the service would partner with relevant stakeholders on community policing to achieve greater successes.

Al-ameen also said that in 2024, the NHFSS would focus on training and re-training of its personnel, capacity building, and security information among others.

He added that the training would help the personnel know what to do in the forest as well as gather relevant information on armed robbers, thieves and other criminal elements in the state.

He further solicited the cooperation of the general public to make the state a zero-free society.
