Former Anambra State Governor, Mbadinuju to get State Burial in November

THE former Governor of Anambra State, Chinwoke Mbadinuju, who passed away on April 11, 2023, will be given a State Burial, the State Government announced on Monday.
According to the statement signed by Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, Secretary to the Anambra State Government, the late governor, who ruled from May 29, 1999 to May 29, 2003, under the platform of the Peoples’ Democratic Party was born on June 14, 1945, deserved commendation for tackling the many teething challenges of security and infrastructure of the then young state in his single term as governor.
It added that his family and the State Government have agreed on the following arrangement of the final passage to give him a befitting funeral as the former Governor of Anambra State.
“November 22, the Anambra State Government, ANSG, will receive the body at the Government House Courtyard by 3pm for Lying-in-State.
“November 23, ANSG will hold a Commendation Service and Thanksgiving Ceremony at the International Convention Centre, Awka by 11am. His former political associates, colleagues and friends will have the opportunity to pay their last respects to him in the State Capital where he once held sway as the Governor of Anambra State. His Family will later, on the same day, hold the Wake, Praise/Worship and Tribute Sessions in his honour at Uli, his home town, Ihiala LGA.
“November 24: ANSG and the family will hold an Interdenominational Burial Service at his Uli Country Home by 10am, and interment will follow immediately. The reception and refreshments for guests will subsequently commence.
“November 25: Condolence visits continue as organized by his Family.
“November 26: Outing services and condolence visits will be undertaken as planned by his Family.
“Governor Chinwoke Mbadinuju served Anambra State to the best of his ability. While we bid him farewell, it is only fitting to re-echo his slogan: “It Shall Be Well With Anambra State!”.
