WHEN an individual or a nation has missed an expected change/growth/development target, lineal progression becomes inadequate to cover lost ground.  Hence development experts talk about leap-frogging or accelerating the rate of change/development.

But there is no rocket science to it! If in Africa, you need not look very far. There is Rwanda, which until recently, was notorious as an example of a failed state, largely because of its 1994 intra-ethnic genocide that killed more than 800,000 people in 100 days of slaughter.  To rise from the ashes of that pogrom and become today, a middle-Income country could be described as a modern day economic miracle.

But it didn’t just happen. The four factors for the accelerated change in the country are espoused in a must-read book by Juvenal Turatsinze, a development expert from Rwanda.

The formula is about vision or visionary leadership plus people pulling together to take agreed actions over time to achieve accelerated change! Each factor has a multiplier effect on change.

In a signed copy for me, of the 239-page book, “The Visionary Leader: How to achieve Successful Transformation and Sustainable Development in Africa, using “The Formula for Accelerated Change,” the author acknowledged my “contributions to the manuscript. But honestly, when I saw the manuscript of this amazing work, I saw a key that could unlock Africa’s rich potential for accelerated development.

An untiring development expert and social entrepreneur that he is, Juvenal has a vision to spread his change/development message across and outside Africa using the magic formula.

Indeed, he is already thinking ahead about exponential increment or development. He traces this to Divine multiplication of grifts in the Scripture.

For instance, as a reward for his obedience, God blessed Abraham with “descendants as numerous as the stars of Heaven/sky and the sands on the sea shore.”

From God’s blessing, a tiny mustard seed grows to become the largest shrub, while a seed of corn multiplies into uncountable grains.

Bankers have been using this formula in calculating loans to uninitiated customers. But what was hidden from the wise will now be revealed to the innocent!

Watch out for Juvenal and his team of Change Accelerators!
