AN Enugu based foundation, The Potters Wheel Foundation (TPWF), has lauded Gov. Peter Mbah of Enugu State for  ongoing water and road projects in the state.

Mr Godsown Onuzulike, Founder  of TPWF, gave the commendation at the training of over 100 youths on various skills acquisitions on Tuesday in Enugu.

He commended Mbah’s effort to transform the state with his programmes, policies and Infrastructural development.

Onuzulike said:  “I was coming out from Abakpa where I live, I saw the enormous work going on there and this is the first I am seeing water pipes being laid to my area and road construction going on everywhere.

“We really need to appreciate our governor as every of his step and his body language is telling us that he is ready to work to transform Enugu state.”

He explained that through the governor’s support, a lot of youths and women had been trained on free vocational and entrepreneurial skills that would make them self-reliant.

While calling on youths to support Mbah’s government and be available for the training, the founder said the governor had good plans for them.

Speaking on the training, Onuzulike said it was for batch N group, stressing that since 2020,  the foundation had been running the free vocation and entrepreneur for youths and women in Enugu.

He said the training which held  at the Media Centre, Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium Enugu was in partnership with the Enugu state government through the ministry of Youths and Sports.

“In this batch, we are looking at having different sections like craft, household, digital and content creation sections.

“In our digital academy,  we will be raising 30 people from the state who will be experts in content creation in the social media space,” he said.

He added that the trainings were in line with the agenda of Mbah to better the lives of Enugu youths and women.

“When we get them engaged with productive skills, the state will move from consumption to production state,” he said.

The founder explained that the programme had impacted so positively on the lives of the beneficiaries.

He expressed hope that soon, the state would become one of the leading states in domestic production and local content.

“So far, aside our social media training, we have trained over 5,500 Enugu youths and women free  on different entrepreneurial and vocational skills.

“We are hopeful that we will expand the training  to accommodate other youths and women across the 17 Local Government Areas of the state.”

He, however, urged  well-meaning Nigerians and organisations to support the trainees with start-up kits, saying “only government cannot do it alone.” (NAN)
