EINTRACHT Frankfurt want to continue their winning series when they host HJK Helsinki in the Conference League on Thursday.

The team is coming from two straight Bundesliga wins and the goal is to keep the positive trend going, coach Dino Toppmöller said at a news conference on Wednesday.

“With all due respect to our strong opponents, we are the favourites and want to continue our positive trend. We want to stay in this rhythm and know what’s required,” he said.

Goalkeeper Kevin Trapp won’t be available due to back issues and substitute Jens Grahl will make his debut in a international competition.

“Of course it will be an emotional game for me. My family will be there too, which pleases me very much. It’s a reward for the hardwork of recent years and I am very thankful for it,” Grahl said.

Captain Sebastian Rode will also miss the game due to injury. Forward Mario Götze will be available, but it’s unclear whether he will be in the starting line-up.

Götze has recently missed games due to suspension and also to the birth of his second child.

“Mario hasn’t played as much in the last few weeks because of the suspension and family reasons. Now he’s a bit more relaxed. We are very confident he can be an important factor for us. I see that ambition in him,” Toppmöller said.(dpa/NAN)
