A lecturer with Kaduna State University, Prof. Hycienth Aboh, on Monday tasked the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to deploy more ICT infrastructure and technology to enhance their operations.

Aboh made the appeal in a lecture he delivered in Kaduna on Monday to commemorate 35 years anniversary of the FRSC.

Aboh who is also Special Marshal saidr technology-driven road traffic management would enhance the work of the FRSC.

He said appropriate technology would enable the Corps to professionally track insolent drivers, especially using improved technology on Vehicle Number Plates and Drivers Licence.

“There is also need for the Corps to procure latest state of the art rescue machines and fire fighting trucks in the rescue wing of the Corps,” he added.

Aboh also called for the training and retraining of personnel on casualty handling, and enforcement of road safety management through reorientation of road user behaviour,  among others.

In his address the Zonal Commanding Officer, Kaduna, ACM  Godwin Omiko, urged the road marshals to continue to discharge their responsibilities diligently.

He urged them to support the new leadership of the Corps to achieve the mandate of the organisation.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the event commenced with a road walk, followed by parade and prayers, as well as the inauguration of Zone RS1 Ordinance shop.(NAN)
