FORTY-seven promoted senior officers in the Jos Zonal Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) have been decorated with their new ranks.

Speaking at the event on Monday in Jos, Mr Gilbert Ibekwe, the Zonal Commanding Officer (ZCO), said that the decorated officers were drawn from Plateau, Benue, and Nasarawa States.

The ZCO advised the promoted personnel to live above board, especially as they would assume higher responsibilities.

”Promotion comes with additional responsibility, so, I call on you to be good ambassadors of the corps so that we can have a safe motoring public.

”FRSC has found you worthy in intellect, conduct and other areas and graciously promoted you, you must not disappoint us,” he said.

Ibekwe also warned them to shun corruption and other sharp practices that would tarnish the good image of the organisation, adding that anyone caught would be sanctioned.

One of the promoted officers, Mr Celestine Anzewu, thanked the corps for finding them worthy of the promotion, adding that it would spur them to put in their best toward the actualisation of its mandate.

Anzewu, who was promoted to the rank of a Corps Commander, promised to live up to expectation in his new office. (NAN)
