FRSC deploys 1,250 personnel, 25 patrol vehicles for Eid-el-Kabir celebration in Edo

THE Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Edo says it has deployed 1,250 personnel for special operations during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration in the state.
Mr Henry Benamaisia, the Sector Commander of the FRSC the state, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Benin on Saturday.
NAN reports that the Federal Government had declared July 21 and July 22,2021 as public holidays for Nigerians to celebrate the Eid-el-Kabir.
Benamaisia also said that the corps had deployed 25 patrols vehicles, two heavy duty tow trucks, one tow van, and three ambulances across corridors where traffic would be likely critical during the period in the state.
He said the critical corridors include: Benin-Ekiadolor-Ovia-Okada-Ohosu axis, Benin-Iruekpen-Ekpoma axis and Ewu-Agbede-Auchi axis.
He listed others as said : the Benin-Okhuahe-Ugoneki-Agbor axis and the Benin-Ologbo axis.
He also said that there would be traffic control at major worship centres within the state.
According to him, all these corridors will be manned.
“There will also be speed calming on our highways by our operatives to slowdown motorists from speeding,” he said.
The sector commander said that the 1,250 operatives deployed all over the state would ensure that the critical corridors and other parts of the state were adequately covered.
“They will also ensure that potential traffic gridlock areas have free movement of vehicles, and massive visibility across the state in order to ensure quick response services.
“We will also be working alongside friendly forces to ensure a hitch-free Sallah celebration,” Benamaisia said.
