BOBOYE Oyeyemi, the corps marshal of the Federal Road Safety Commission, has revealed that 25 ‎officials of the commission were sacked Thursday, November 30, night for alleged official misconducts. He promised that more officials would be showed the way out.

Oyeyemi warned motorists across the country to stop bribing officials of the commission, saying they were being paid promptly.

The FRSC boss said he had directed all his men to impound vehicles they perceived not to be road-worthy on highways.

Boboye who spoke at the secretariat of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, in Ibadan, Oyo State, as part of the union’s 2017 press week said all his officials had received their November salaries, and that it would amount to a crime for them to take from the poor public.

The FRSC boss noted that the fines of most of the offenses were cheaper than the bribe being given to the men in uniform.

He, however, sought the‎ support of the media and general public to take photograph of any of his men found engaged in any misconduct.

According to him, the commission has zero tolerance for corruption and any of its officials who engages in such act will be shown the way out of the FRSC.

“Stop bribing our men. As at today, all our men had collected their salaries. We have zero tolerance for bribery in our commission and whoever engages in such act will be send back home. Report whoever demands for bribe to our office and we shall take action,” he said.

Speaking on the effects of over-speeding on the roads, Boboye urged motorists to drive carefully as we are approaching the end of the year, adding that over-speeding contributes 55 percent to the crashes on the road.
