FELLOW Kogites. It is an honor to address you on this momentous occasion of the celebration of Eid-El-Kabir. The significance of this celebration is total submission to the command of Allah (SWT).

Today has become an iconic date in the Islamic Calendar because it is a Feast of Sacrifice and it is the Hallmark of our pilgrimage.

We are united by the call to sacrifice and submission  to the will of the Almighty Allah. I call on all the people of our dear state across religions to live according to the tenets that embody the Eid-El-Kabir. It is impossible to build without sacrifices.

Our state is at a crossroad. We need  peace and unity to navigate the challenges that lie ahead and unlock the potentials that our state is reputed for. It is high time we began to strengthen our faith in our Maker.

I wish to urge my Muslim brothers and sisters to seize the opportunity of this festival to pray for our leaders and seek the face of Allah for the prosperity of our nation.

There is no better time than now to be reminded of the need to make sacrifices. Our President is working day and night to pull our nation out of the woods into glory. His efforts are beginning to yield bountiful results. On our part in Kogi State, we are focusing on the economic empowerment and security of our people.

We have shown commitment, capacity, desire and will power to make Kogi the epicenter of growth and development in Nigeria.

The rescue of all our kidnapped students except the two unfortunately killed by the enemies of law and morality, demonstrates what we can achieve as a State when we address our minds to success. While we congratulate the families of the rescued students, our thoughts are with the families of the two students that were killed by the kidnappers. I have sworn to protect the life of every Kogite and that we shall do with determination and a positive spirit. Kogites are known for resilience and industry. Our State shall succeed.

In the spirit of this festive period of sacrifice and submission to the will of Allah, I rededicate myself to the iron-cast commitment to serve you with the fear of God. Our administration is building a strong starting momentum that will redefine the future of our state.

May Allah prosper our dear State. Thank you and God bless you all.
