THE Governing Council of Federal University Gashua (FUGA) has approved the promotion of three senior academics as Readers.
The Readers are Dr Mathias Ojo, Sociology Department, Dr Yunus Hassan, Department of Islamic studies, and Dr Adekoyeni Oludare, Home Science and Management.
This is contained in a statement by the university’s Head, Information and Protocol Unit, Alhaji Adamu Saleh, in Gashua on Friday.
He said that the promotions of the 3 senior academics followed the receipt of favourable external assessment report on them.
Saleh said that the council also approved the promotion of 89 other academics to various ranks, 129 senior non-teaching staff and 24 junior staff.
The information officer said the approval was made at the council’s 23rd Regular meeting held on Thursday.
He said the Vice Chancellor of the Institution, Prof. Maimuna Waziri, congratulated the staff on behalf of Council and management for the well-deserved promotions.
She charged them to reciprocate the gesture by being dedicated to the services of the university to justify their promotions.(NAN)
