A 26-year-old male student has admitted to murdering a 22-year-old female student but denied sexually abusing her body after death.
A state court hearing in the German city of Muehlhausen heard on Monday that the admission of guilt was read out by the unnamed suspect’s lawyer.
According to the charges, the two became acquainted while studying in the city of Nordhausen in the eastern state of Thuringia.
“The man’s affections for his fellow student were not returned.
“To win her affection, the 26-year-old then pretended to be the head of the civil protection agency in the state capital of Erfurt, suggesting that he could arrange employment for her.
“The fraudulent employment contract was to have been signed in Bonn on Aug. 29, 2017.
“The victim fell asleep on the sofa in the man’s apartment the previous evening,’’ prosecutors said.
The prosecutors alleged that the man panicked when he realised his ruse would be discovered, and hit his victim on the head, and then cut her throat and stabbed her all over her torso.
“She bled to death within minutes.’’ (Dpa/NAN)
