GOC 1 division decorates 3 newly promoted senior officers

THE General Officer Commanding(GOC) 1 Division Nigerian Army(NA) Maj Gen Valentine Okoro has decorated 3 newly promoted senior officers who benefited from the recently released promotion for Lieutenant Colonels and Colonels by the NA authority.
The event which took place at the Division’s Auditorium witnessed the decoration of the newly promoted officers with their new rank of Lieutenant Colonel. The beneficiaries include Lt Col Ahmed Mukhtar, Lt Col Akeem Aromashodu, and Lt Col Ibrahim Sanda.
In his remarks during the investiture ceremony, the GOC congratulated the newly promoted senior officers and urged them to redouble their efforts to justify the confidence the NA has in them. He further charged them to be competent enough to carry out the enormous tasks and responsibilities ahead of them. He said the NA has found them worthy to wear the rank and no excuses will be entertained for any failure in assigned tasks.
While delivering his vote of thanks on behalf of himself and the two other beneficiaries, the most senior of the newly promoted and decorated officers Lt Col Ahmed Muktar said he thanked God for witnessing the day and being among the beneficiaries. He appreciated the Army Council and the Chief of Army Staff for finding them worthy of the elevation. He equally thanked the GOC and their respective Commanders for their mentorship and guidance. He appreciated their family members for their patience and support just as he thanked their friends and well-wishers for finding time to grace the occasion.
