GODWIN Obiano, a reverend father and vicar St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Amawbia has said that God does not abandon his people even when their sins are like “scarlet.”

Obiano said this during Sunday homily at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, Amawbia.

He prayed God not to abandon Nigerians, especially now that the General Election was at hand.

“When the Israelites were in captivity; in tears they beckoned on God and He listened and set them free from captivity.

“If God can part the Red Sea for the people of Israel to pass through, so also He will do something positive for Nigerians.

“Like God changed Jabez’s condition, so He will do for our country Nigeria,’’ Obiano said.

The prelate noted that God was ever faithful and could not forsake his children, believing that he would do new things in our country.

“For the sake of Nigeria, God will not be silent nor grow weary until her salvation flames like a torch,’’ he said.

He noted: “God loves and cares for His people. Christians should identify God’s gifts in their lives and make good use of them to better the society.’’
