Golf Club: Kano Govt says no plan to revoke land title
Sports
THE Kano State Government says it has no intention to revoke the land title of the oldest northern Nigeria Kano Golf Club.
The state Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Malam Muhammad Garba, said this in a statement in Kano.
Garba dismissed the speculation as a mere misrepresentation of facts to settle political scores.
He explained that the state Bureau for Land Administration only wrote the management of the Golf Club reminding them that the term of title of the land had expired since April 6, 2019.
According to him, no mention of revocation was made in the content of the letter sent to owners of the club, but renewal of the land title and its groud rent.
Garba however noted that an online publication own by an element of the opposition in the state twisted the information to discredit the ruling party in the state.
The commissioner therefore assured that the status of the club remains, and called on the public to disregard the deliberate misinformation and be wary of agents of destabilisation bent on creating confusion in the state. (NAN)
