IBADAN Golf Club has lauded Enterprise Life Assurance Limited for leading other companies to sponsor the sixth edition of Insurance Open Golf Tournament in Ibadan.

The Captain of the Club, Mr Seyi Alaba in a statement on Saturday in Lagos, expressed excitement on the revival of the tournament.

Alaba said that this was made possible due to the effort of the organising committee, with support from lead sponsors like Enterprise Life.

According to him, the tournament serves as a platform for networking, relationship-building, and promoting healthy lifestyle.

“I thank the LOC Chairman for standing firm and making the tournament a reality despite all hurdles.

”Insurance Open Golf Tournament is one of the club`s biggest competitions that every golfer in the South-West looks forward to, and the return brings a lot of joy to everyone.

”It is a good thing that has happened to Ibadan Golf Club, as we are leveraging on other organisations to push the corporate image of the club,”he said.

Ms Funmi Omo, Managing Director, Enterprise Life Assurance, said that the insurer was glad to support initiatives that promote excellence, camaraderie, and good health.

Omo said that the golf tournament aligned with the insurance company’s values.

She congratulated all participants on their impressive display of skill and sportsmanship.

She said that the golf tournament had become a premier event in Nigeria’s golfing calendar.

According to her, Enterprise Life’s sponsorship demonstrates its commitment to developing the sport and fostering community.

“This year’s tournament saw impressive performances from golfers, with winners receiving trophies and prizes.

“As a leading life insurance provider, Enterprise Life Assurance remains committed to accelerating insurance penetration in Nigeria.

“Through strategic partnerships, community engagement, and innovative solutions, the company continues to promote financial inclusion and risk protection for Nigerians,” she said.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the sixth edition of the Insurance Open Golf Tournament held between Sept. 20 and 22 in Ibadan and brought together over 250 golfers.

The Chairman, Local Organising Committee of the tournament, Mr Olatunde Agbeja, said that the last time that tournament held was in 2019 due to the COVID.

Agbaje said that the COVID-19, which extended to 2020 resulted to economic crisis that led to poor support from sponsors, hence a halt in the tournament in the last four years.(NAN)
