GOV. Mai Mala Buni of Yobe has donated wrappers and Guinea brocades worth N10 million to the Orphans and Vulnerable Welfare Foundation.

Alhaji Ibrahim Kalallawa, Chairman of the foundation, disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Damaturu.

He said the 5,000 beneficiaries were selected across Damaturu Local Government Area to benefit from the gesture.

Kalallawa also said the gesture was aimed at bringing smiles to the faces of orphans and vulnerable people during the fasting and Eid-el-Fitr holidays.

He also said the gesture would foster a sense of belonging for the orphans and vulnerable in the community.

“In a longstanding tradition of the state, orphans and vulnerable individuals receive food and non-food items during Ramadan and Eid-el-Fitr celebrations.” (NAN)
