GOV. Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers has congratulated a  former governor of the state, Dr Peter Odili, on his 76th birth anniversary.

Fubara, in a statement on Wednesday, hailed Odili’s  unblemished leadership qualities and fatherly mentorship .

He described Odili as an exceptional statesman, a living legend and catalyst for propelling several individuals into political spotlight, both in Rivers and Nigeria.

According to him, Odili’s  fatherly role in helping the state government navigate the present political situation is a virtue, worthy of emulation.

The governor said that the state needed leaders like Odili, to take the people to their dreams.

“You are an embodiment of genuine leadership, a mentor and pre-eminent political colossus, responsible for elevating every member of the political class in the state, without any pecuniary interest.

“You have continued to lend your voice on critical state issues as a devoted crusader for justice, equity, and fairness, in your desire for a peaceful and united Rivers State,” he said.

Fubara prayed God to continue to guide the former governor and bless him with good  health.

He also prayed  God to grant Odili more fruitful years of celebration and distinguished service to humanity. (NAN)
