KANO State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje registers deep condolences with the family of Mr. Waheed Bakare, the Saturday Editor of New Telegraph.

In a statement by the commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, on Tuesday the governor also commiserated with the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Nigeria Guild of Editors (NGE), and the management of New Telegraph Newspapers.

The governor described Bakare as a brilliant journalist whose death is not just a big blow to his immediate family but members of the fourth estate of the realm, pointing out that his contributions to the pen profession will be profoundly missed.

Ganduje called on the deceased family and relations to ‘bear the loss with the spirit of acquiescence to God’s will and urged them to take solace in the fact that endurance was not the measure of a good life but the sense of fulfillment. – The Nation
