WHEN the BusinessDay Media, a well reputable media Organisation in Nigeria selected four outstanding Governors out of 36 State Governors and put them forward for the public to criticize and make their final decision on whom the cap fits as the Best Governor in Nigeria, Apostle David Nweze, FNATE, FNSE, Governor of Ebonyi State, the Lion of South East and Chairman of South East Governors’ Forum, who was a Guest Lecturer during the 59th Founder’s Day of University of Nigeria Nsukka, emerged victorious over his contemporaries because of his projects, policies and programmes which cut across every sector of the state economy.
Lady Monica Chidinma Ada Eze, the Founder and President of David Umahi Nweze Akuburoah Ebonyi Transformation Agenda (DUNAETA), a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO), postulated that all these projects that have distinguished Governor Umahi as the Hope of a greater Nigeria has repositioned Ebonyi State as the fastest developing State in Nigeria ranging from urban and rural infrastructural development to healthcare, education, tourism, agriculture and education are all scattered in the nooks and crannies of the state and are visible for even the blind to see.
Lady Monica Ada Chidinma Eze, who also doubles as the Technical Assistant (TA) on Media to Governor Umahi made this remark in a press statement she personally signed and issued on Monday and circulated to media houses in Abakaliki, the State capital of Ebonyi State, further stated that the BusinessDay award was conferred on Governor Umahi through the former Head of State, Federal Republic of Nigeria Gen. Dr. Yakubu Gowon, GCFR in a colourful event witnessed by key actors in the politics and economy of Nigeria.
She went further to highlight that truly the transformational achievements of the Governor of Ebonyi State, His Excellency, Engr. Chief David Nweze Umahi FNSE, FNATE, are garnering overwhelming National and International acclamation, and as a result, the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) and just few hours ago, the Human Rights Commission have joined the BusinessDay Media to confer on the Dr. Umahi “the Best Performing Governor” in Nigeria for the year 2019.
According to the Human Rights Commission, National Headquarters message to His Excellency, Dave Umahi, “the Nigerian populace, through social media e-voting, has voted Ebonyi State Government for the prestigious 2019 Human Rights Award in the category of State Governments in Nigeria for contributions in infrastructure for development of a culture of respect for human rights”.
The award ceremony that took place on Sunday, 8th December, 2019 at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Abuja was another feat that will spur this tireless Governor whose love and drive to turn Ebonyi State into a construction site and one of the best States in Nigeria is no longer in doubt.
Monica Eze, AKA Ada Ebonyi, recalled that Governor Umahi had also won the best performing governor of the year 2018 by Leadership Newspaper, Governor of the year 2018 on Infrastructure by Authority Newspaper, Governor of the year on Agriculture by New Telegraph Newspaper and countless other awards too numerous to be captured in one single press statement.
Monica Eze describes both President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Ikpeazu of Abia State including the Organisers of the Annual Zik’s Award as great Prophets of our time as they have prophesied in the past that Governor Umahi will become a great Leader in Nigeria. According to Governor Ikpeazu of Abia State, his colleague in Ebonyi State is the wisest Governor in Nigeria and to the Organisers of the Zik’s award for leadership after conferring the 2017 Zik’s Award for Leadership described Umahi as one of the brightest that will take Nigeria to greater heights.
“The catalogue of infrastructural development, such as roads, housing, power etc recorded by Gov. Umahi earned Ebonyi state the respect and love of President Muhammadu Buhari, who was amazed at the sight of such achievements and could not help but spent two days, commissioning projects after projects in the state, thus, making Ebonyi the first State Mr. President passed the night apart from his home State, Katsina, after becoming the President of Nigeria in 2015,” she said.
She maintained that no matter whatever maybe anybody’s position, Umahi has become an enigma and has earned himself much respect across all classes’ people in Nigeria. She described the governor as “The Pride of Ndi-Igbo”, “Hope of our generation”, “a rare gem”, and “a tool for the emancipation of Nigeria”.
Monica encourages the world to come over to Ebonyi State and see how an individual through Gods wisdom and strength has turned the once mocked State into one huge construction site through the construction of the biggest ecumenical center in Nigeria, construction of the Ebonyi International Shopping Mall, the biggest shopping mall in West Africa, the new Government House which is a site to behold, five best flyovers in Nigeria, etc., thus, transforming her into an Elderado.
“The fact remains that Governor Umahi has proved beyond every doubt that he is on a divine mission in Ebonyi State,” she opined.
“Ebonyi State under Akubaraoha has overtaken several other states in all spheres and is making waves in the development history of Africa,”.Ada Ebonyi said.
