GOV. Abba Yusuf of Kano State has expressed grief over the death of late Sani Kanti Ranka, the Chairman of Bebeji Local Government Council.
Late Ranka died on Friday night after a brief illness.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Malam Ibrahim Shuiabu, on Saturday in Kano.
Yusuf described the death as “deeply painful and a huge loss, not only to his immediate family but the entire state and the nation in general”.
He said the deceased was a peaceful man with wealth of experience in politics and service to the people.
The governor prayed Almighty Allah to forgive Ranka’s shortcomings and reward his good deeds with Aljannat Firdaus.
The late chairman has since being buried according to Islamic rites. (NAN)
