Government to Contractors, Construct above Water Level in Flood Prone Areas

THE Anambra State Government has urged contractors handling projects in flood-prone areas in the state to raise the road above water level and deliver as designed.
Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra made the call when he inspected the ongoing road construction works at Mmiata – Nzam axis.
The governor noted that all roads within flood areas were specially designed to meet the flood challenges to enable the people to have access to their communities during flooding.
He stressed that his commitment toward providing necessary facilities that would promote humanity.
Commissioner for Works, Mr Marcel Ifejiofor, said the 10.2 Mmiata Road with 120 meters bridge was awarded to a competent contractor.
He re-assured that the contractor would utilise the dry season to ensure completion before the next rainy season.
The Contractor, Johnny Nasson of Kanudeen Construction Company reassured of his readiness to speed up construction and make maximum use of the dry season, to defeat the next rainy season.
The Commissioner for Youths and Creative Economy, Mr Bonaventure Enemali commended the governor for his lofty vision in managing the economy of the state.
Mr Enemali assured of total victory for all APGA candidates in the upcoming General Elections.
