Godwin Ibekwe, senior special assistant to the governor on Labour Matters, has expressed delight at the development thrust of Anambra State, 27 years after its creation.
Ibekwe, who gave the indication at Ogbunike on the 27th Anniversary of the state, noted that Anambra remained the most developed of the states created alongside it.
The SSA lauded the government for being labour-friendly, especially with regards to its regular payment of workers’ salaries on or before 25th of every month even in recession.
“Anambra did not seek bailout funds to pay salaries when other states were battling with borrowing to settle salary arrears,’’ Ibekwe said.
He listed some of the achievements of the state to include security of lives and property, outstanding achievements in the education sector where some children won National and international awards.
Ibekwe urged workers in the state to reciprocate Government’s kind gesture by being more dedicated to their responsibilities.
