THE Old Bende Young Professionals have backed the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rep. Benjamin Kalu’s  to reposition the APC in Abia.

This, the group said, would ensure victory for the APC in the state in the 2027 general elections.

Mr Chima Ogbonnaya, President of the group, said this  in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja that Kalu’s comment that the APC will  win Abia was in order.

He said that as a pan-political association dedicated to promoting the interests of the people of  Old Bende and Abia in general, “we stand firmly behind Kalu.”

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Kalu, in a video that had now gone viral, predicted an APC victory in the 2027 Abia governorship election.

The group said the prediction was a testament to his unwavering commitment to the progress and development of the state.

Ogbonnaya said the group commended Kalu for his role in the recent signing of the Southeast Development Commission (SEDC) Bill into Law by President Bola Tinubu.

He said this is a testament to Kalu’s dedication to the region’s growth, adding that the landmark achievement was borne out of his vision and perseverance.

This, according to him, would bring about unprecedented development and opportunities for the people of Abia.

He said the era of leadership by chance was over, adding that the time for purposeful, visionary leadership had come.

“Our people deserve a government that will work in tandem with the centre to attract investments, create jobs, and improve living standards.

“Kalu’s prediction is not just a statement of confidence in the APC’s chances, but a call to action for all Abia people to rally behind a proven leader who has consistently delivered on his promises.”

He urged the Labour Party to focus on selling their manifesto to the people rather than disparaging the APC’s chances.

The president said the 2027 general elections would be decided by voters, expressing confidence that Abia would choose the party that had consistently demonstrated ability to deliver on its promises.(NAN)
