Group lauds Tinubu, 36 Governors on sate police

A Coalition of Federalists for Good Governance (CFGG), a Non-governmental organisation has commended President Bola Tinubu and the 36 States Governors over their endorsement for State Police in Nigeria.

The coalition said this in a statement jointly signed by MrTaiye Odewale its National Coordinator and Ms Aisha Jibrin, its Secretary on Friday in Abuja.

The group said that state police was obtainable in most advanced countries of the world.

It called on the National Assembly to back the plans with the required constitutional amendment.

Tinubu and the 36 States Governors had on Thursday at an emergency meeting,suggested the establishment of State Police as a solution to Nigeria’s security challenges. (NAN)
