A group, Initiative for Better and Brighter Nigeria (IBBN), has called on President Bola Tinubu to put modalities on ground to end corruption and promote good governance at all levels.

Prophet Isa El-buba, the Converner of the group made the call during a news conference on Friday in Jos.

El-buba, who decried the spate of corruption among public office holders, leading to bad governance and poverty in the country, called on the president to urgently address the situation.

”There is need for our president to tackle corruption and bad governance that is breeding hunger, abject poverty and dwindling Nigeria’s economy.

”Part of this effort should include cutting cost of governance across all levels of government; frivolous allowances for public office holders must also stop.

”This is the time for the president to proof to Nigerians that his vision for the people is truly the renewed hope,”he said.

El-buba further advised the president to replace non performing ministers and inject young and vibrant people who are ready to serve the people.

The convener also called on the president to invest more funds into the education, agriculture, skill acquisition and other critical sectors of the economy.

He called on the government to probe corrupt leaders, adding that all recovered loots be invested into education, healthcare and other critical sectors.

”Probe past and present Nigerian leaders who have looted the treasury and recover their loots.

”Deposit these recovered funds in a special account and use it to fund education, healthcare and infrastructure,”he said.

El-buba, who commend the Federal Government for rehabilitating the rail tranport system, advised it to fix all dilapidated roads across the nation.

He noted that if some of the concerns he raised are addressed, the impending protest by Nigerians could be averted.(NAN)
