THE Eggon Cultural and Development Association (ECDA), Ezhiba branch, Nasarawa, had pledged to continue to seek unity among its people in order to attract development to the area.
The ECDA Chairman, Mr David Boka, who gave the pledge on Sunday during the meeting of the association, said that such measure would further enhance people’s wellbeing.
According to him, unity among the people will engender peace and guarantee their security.
“I appreciate stakeholders and other members of the community for their contributions towards developing the area and I want to seek for its sustenance.
“This meeting is to chart the path of progress and constitute an electoral committee to conduct election into various offices within the association,” he said.
Boka called on the people of Nawarawa State and the country in general to embrace peace in order to overcome the current security challenges.
“No nation can achieve meaningful development and progress without peace and unity among its citizens.
“I want to urge Nigerians to be law-abiding, respect constituted authorities and love one another in order to overcome the myriad of challenges facing the country,” he said.
Boka urged members of the association to support the electoral committee in conducting free and credible election.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a five-member electoral committee was inaugurated during the meeting to conduct election that would herald the association’s new executive.
The committee, chaired by Mr Emmanuel Affiku, has Messrs Sunday Khaki-Ebuga, Monday Angbashim, James Akpazi and Angbashim Ali as members. (NAN)
