PROF. Chukwuma Charles Soludu, former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, escaped death by the whiskers in his hometown in Isuofia, Aguata, Anambra when unknown gunmen attacked the venue where he was holding a meeting with the youths in the area on Wednesday, March 31.
Soludo is also an aspirant in the forthcoming governorship election in November on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, the ruling party in the State.
Realnews gathered that the gunmen who invaded the venue, killed three policemen and whisked away Emeka Ezenwanne, a commissioner in Anambra State, who is also the brother-in-law of Soludo.
The gunmen also killed two policemen.
C. Don Adinuba, commissioner of information and publicity, Anambra State, confirmed the incident, saying that Soludo is safe and that the situation is under control as the government is monitoring the situation.
However, a source, who wishes anonymity, told Realnews, the attack on Soludo and the kidnap of his brother-in-law was to teach him a lesson by getting at his closest relative and scare him from pursuing his political ambition.
