Gunmen kill 54-year-old man, injure one in Plateau

Unidentified gunmen have killed one Mamman Bayaro, 54, and injured Mohammed Ibrahim at Kadunu Village in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau.

DSP Terna Tyopev, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Jos.

Tyopev said the incident occurred on Sunday.

“Yesterday, at about 7:45p.m., our Division in Mangu received a distress call that unknown gunmen attacked one Mamman Bayaro, 54, of Kadunu Village in Mangu LGA.

“As a result of the attack, the victim was shot on his chest and when he was rushed to the Allah Na Kowa Hospital in the locality for treatment he was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.

“Also, one Muhammadu Ibrahim of the same Village was shot on his left leg and is currently receiving treatment at the same hospital,” he said.

The PPRO said efforts were on to arrest the perpetrators of the dastardly act to make them face the full wrath of the law. (NAN)
