Heads of Observation Missions in Sierra Leone hold Diplomatic Meetings ahead of Sierra Leone's Presidential Run-off Poll

AHEAD of March 31 presidential run-off poll in Sierra Leone, heads of International Election Observation missions are working hard to ensure a successful and peaceful electoral process. They have held several consultations with political stakeholders including the two political parties contesting the run-off poll and the National Electoral Commission, towards ensuring that the election which was briefly suspended by a High Court order holds without hiccups

Those, who attended the meetings are John Mahama, former president of Ghana and head of the Commonwealth Observation Mission,  former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan, head of Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa, EISA..

Other African leaders in Sierra Leone for the election are Prof. Amos Sawyer, former interim president of Liberia and head of ECOWAS  Election Observation Mission and Kgalema Motlanthe, former South African president, who heads the African Union Observation Mission.

The heads of observation missions have held meetings with political parties, National Electoral Commission which led to the rescheduled March 31 election.
