YAKUBU Dogara, speaker of House of Representatives, and Ayodele Fayose, former governor of Ekiti State, have congratulated Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on his survival of a helicopter crash last Saturday.

The vice-president and nine others had, on Saturday, February 2, escaped unhurt when a hired helicopter conveying them to Kabba, Kogi State, crash-landed.

The vice-president has been receiving solidarity messages from within and outside the country since the incident occurred.

Reacting through his twitter handle, Dogara thanked God for saving the vice president and his team from the unfortunate incident.

He called on relevant authorities to conduct proper checks on all government-owned aircrafts to prevent a reoccurrence of the mishap.

He wrote, “I join His Excellency, Prof ProfOsinbajo in thanking the Almighty God for saving him and his team from any fatality in the unfortunate incident in Kogi State.

“I urge relevant authorities to conduct due diligence checks on all government-owned aircraft to prevent a re-occurrence.”

On his part, Fayose thanked God for keeping the vice president alive and wished him a quick recovery from whatever minor injuries he may have sustained from the crash.

“For me, sanctity of life goes beyond politics and I pray that God will continue to safeguard his life,” Fayose said.
