Help return Ondo to its position in sports development, FIFA licenced agent charges SWAN

A FIFA-licenced agent, Shalom Olaseni has charged Sports writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Ondo State Chapter, to ensure the state return to its rightful position in sports development.
Olaseni made the charge while receiving the executive members of SWAN in his office on Friday in Akure.
He said sports in the state was not where it should be, while SWAN, as the watchdog and engine that drives sports development, should put stakeholders on their toes in all areas.
Olaseni, who assured the association of his support, called on the executive members to set records and shatter history positively in order to make the state a model for others to emulate.
“My support for the association is not because I’m a friend to the association, but for my passion and commitment for the development of the round leather game at the grassroots level.
“I am ready to partner and work with the association for the development and advancement of sports in the state,” he said.
Earlier, state Chairman of SWAN, Segun Giwa, commended the agent for his contributions to the development of the sports, especially the round leather game in the state.
Giwa, therefore, urged the Olaseni to keep the good work going, saying he had displayed uncommon passion for sports development.
“You are a critical stakeholder in the sports circle, so we are enjoining you to develop interest in the sports politics.
“Because your involvement in sports politics will enable you to contribute your quota to the development of sports at the grassroots and encourage future athletes,” he said. (NAN)
