THE Osun State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr Segun Agbaje, on Monday said some hoodlums that attacked polling units while election was ongoing caused inconclusive poll in the Saturday House of Assembly election.
In Oriade State Constituency, the Independent National Electoral Commission declared election inconclusive after elections in five polling units were cancelled.
Speaking with our correspondent in his office, Agbaje said five units were cancelled in Ward 8, Ipetu Ijesa, a town in the Oriade Local Government Area.
He said, “We could have had 100 per cent success rate, if not for the hoodlums that attacked some polling units in Ward 8, Ipetu Ijesa.
“The hoodlums attacked Units 02, 03, 04, 08 and 14 around 10am while election was on. We had to cancel the exercise in the area.” – Punch
