Hotel, hospital fires in Istanbul leave 3 dead

A fire in a seven-storey hotel in Istanbul on Friday left two people dead and three persons with injuries, according to local authorities.

A separate fire also broke out in a hospital in the Üsküdar district early on Friday morning.

According to the governor’s office in Istanbul, 109 patients were taken to nearby clinics, including 15 intensive care patients.

One hospital patient died as a result.

The causes of both fires are not immediately known. (dpa/NAN)
