THE House of Prayers Football Academy of Ilorin on Friday emerged the champion of the 2022 Kwara State League with a 2-0 win over ASQ Football Club of Ilorin.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the final, which was played at one of the pitches of Kwara Football Academy (KFA), saw House of Prayers scored a goal in each half.

Isaiah Adama scored the first goal in the first half in a match which was almost truncated by heavy downpour.

Efforts by ASQ FC to equalise proved abortive as the rain denied both sides a free flow football.

House of Prayers returned and started from where they left it in the first half with an attempt to impose fresh tactics on their opponents.

Not long as the game restarted, House of Prayers doubled their lead via a fine finish by AbdulMalik Adetunji.

Speaking at the end of the match, the Kwara Football Association Chairman, Malam Idris Musa, congratulated the winner (House of Prayers Academy), describing them as a worthy champion.

He said the association would continue to improve on its programmes and activities for the benefit of the development of the game of football.

In his remark, the Executive Chairman of Kwara State Sports Commission, Malam Bola Mogaji, assured of the Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s readiness to improve the sports sector in the state, while congratulating the winner of the 2022 champion.

NAN reports that House of Prayers Football Academy will now represent Kwara in the Nationwide League One division three playoff in Makurdi, Benue, from Sept. 12 to Sept. 17. (NAN)
