REP. Abdulmalik Zubairu (APC-Maru Bungudu) in Zamfara donated health and electrification projects to Maru and Bungudu Local Government Areas of the state on Friday.

The projects were inaugurated by the Federal Commissioner, National Population Commission representing Zamfara, Alhaji Muttaka Rini, on behalf of former governor of Zamfara, Sen. Abdul’aziz Yari (APC-Zamfara West).

Speaking at the inauguration ceremonies at Mayanchi and Runji communities, Zubairu said the donations were designed as part of the activities marking his first 100 days in office.

The projects included the upgrading and rehabilitation of the General Hospital at Dansadau, and the renovation of the Primary Healthcare Centres at Dankurmi, Kwatarkwashi and Mayanchi communities in Maru Local Government Area.

“Other projects are the renovation and equipping of a dispensary and the electrification in Runji community in Bungudu Local Government Area,’’ he said.

He recalled that he had promised to promote healthcare delivery, especially in rural communities during his electioneering campaigns.

“During my campaigns, I made several promises to promote electrification and healthcare delivery in the rural areas.

“Today I have fulfilled some of my promises. I assure the constituents that more projects are on the way with emphasis on rural communities,’’ Zubairu said.

Inaugurating the projects, Rini commended the lawmaker for the gesture.

“This is a worthy of commendation. Sen. Yari is appealing to other political office holders in Zamfara to emulate Zubairu in improving the lives of people, especially at the grassroots.

He also wants Zamfara people to continue to pray and seek for divine interventions to address lingering security challenges in the state,’’ Rini said. (NAN)
