A housewife, Eleojo Musa, prayed to a Kubwa Grade I Area Court, to award custody of her two children and for an order for her estranged husband, Bashiru Ibrahim to pay N300, 000 allowance.
Musa said that her marriage to Ibrahim was dissolved on Sept.12.
” After our marriage was dissolved, Ibrahim said he was going to take care of the children but I have not heard from him since then, ” she said.
Musa however prayed to the court to grant her custody of the children and an order for Ibrahim to provide maintenance allowance of N300, 000.
In his response, Ibrahim, through his defence counsel, Mohammed Shehu said that he could afford N40, 000 only for maintenance fee monthly.
He added that if the proposed maintenance fee was not acceptable, he would take custody of the children.
Ibrahim also prayed to the court for access to his children every Saturday and to be able to take his daughter out and return her later in the day.
He said that the house Musa lives in was his personal property.
Musa however objected to the N40, 000 monthly allowance, saying that her nine-month-old baby still uses the clothes she bought him while she was pregnant for him.
” My 5\five-year-old daughter’s school uniform and shoes are worn out and she does not have a school bag.
” I can manage N50, 000 monthly for the children’s maintenance, the house I reside in with my children is mine not his” Musa said.
The judge, Muhammad Adamu however ordered the defence counsel to report to the respondent, the petitioner’s grievances and adjourned the matter until Oct.24 for hearing. (NAN)
