How I discovered my talent in music – Yprince

Afro Pop singer and song writer, Nwoko Chinedu, with the stage name, Yprince, has said that  he discovered his music talent at early stage while growing up in Niger state.

In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday  in Abuja, the  Imo State-born upcoming artiste said he started exploring his music talent in his secondary school days.

“In my secondary school days, I formed a music group where we write and present our songs in social gatherings like the gala night and some notable school events.

“I started listening to the likes of Akon, Michael Jackson, Davido , Psqaure, Paul play, Tuface idibia and Style plus.

“Listening to these great musicians and watching them performed on stage became my source of motivation,” he said.

The 27-year old artiste said his parents and siblings have been very supportive of his music career and assisting him in any way they could

“I can literally tell my mom to sing my song word by word, and she will do so, effortlessly.

“I am really grateful to God for the kind of parents and siblings i have. They are blessing, to me,” he said

YPrince said he got inspiration for his songs from personal experiences, relationships with others, environment and daily living of people around him and the society at large.

“I have released six songs so far, including, “All I want” in 2016, followed by another one titled “4u” which was officially published 2021.

I later released an EP called ” Nextbigthing” which has three songs in it – ” Ojoro” , “You I see’, and ‘Ifemi” .

“Then i recently released a song titled ” ‘Obianuju’ and I also have other musical projects I am currently working on,” he said.

He disclosed that he “is currently working on a Campus tour to create awareness and gain a good fan base”. (NAN)
