ABUJA Broadcasting Corporation, owners of Aso Television and Radio Services, said improved contents and supports from the FCT Minister, Malam Mohammed Bello, facilitated the inclusion of the television to the DSTV platform.
The corporation’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Malam Ibrahim Damisa, made the disclosure at a news briefing on Thursday in Abuja.
Damisa said that the station, apart from being on DSTV, was now on Arab Sat and Startimes, saying, ”which means it can be watched from any part of the world.”
He said the feat remained one of the biggest achievements of the present FCT Administration, assuring that the management would continue to create competitive contents that would attract more audience.
This, according to him, will translate to more money for the station.
Damisa said: ”When the FCT Minister, Bello visited here, he asked us to run our operation like an enterprise and this involves strategic steps.
”They include quality engineering work, quality signal and be on multi-platforms like DSTV, Arab Sat and Startimes to enhance our marketing ability.”
The MD said the two stations were working harder to increase news coverage by covering all the six area councils and extending coverage to adjourning states.
”Also, we will be sending correspondents to some strategic states in an effort to expand our coverage and strength our marketing strategy,” he added.
On infrastructure, the MD said due to termites and rodents infestation of the state-of-the-art Radio studio, the management was reworking it.
”It will now be better equipped and protected,” Damisa added, thanking the staffers for their efforts to move the organisation forward.
He, however, pleaded with them to redouble their efforts to move the two stations to greater heights. (NAN)
