….urges support for Rivers State’s progress
The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria (HURIWA) has described Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s emergence as a testament to divine providence, emphasizing that leadership is ordained by God and not by man. Reacting to a recent statement by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, HURIWA asserted that Governor Fubara’s lack of personal political ambition and his humble disposition signify his divine selection to serve and elevate Rivers State.
At a New Year’s banquet attended by notable dignitaries, Wike revealed that Fubara did not lobby for the position of governor nor purchase the nomination form. Instead, he was handpicked and assured of victory. While some might interpret Wike’s remarks as asserting influence, HURIWA highlighted a deeper truth: Governor Fubara’s ascension reflects God’s will, a clear indication that his leadership is destined to bring transformative progress to Rivers State.
HURIWA emphasized that the absence of personal ambition in Fubara’s journey to the governorship is a hallmark of divine orchestration. “History is replete with examples of leaders who, chosen by God, achieved extraordinary feats because they served with humility and a sense of divine purpose. Governor Fubara’s rise mirrors this pattern, marking him as a vessel through which Rivers State can achieve its greatest potential.
“Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s emergence was not shaped by human design but by the higher hands of divine authority. His lack of self-seeking ambition aligns with the Biblical and philosophical notion that the meek shall inherit the earth. His humility, quiet demeanor, and readiness to serve demonstrate that his leadership is not for self-aggrandizement but for the prosperity of Rivers State and its people,” HURIWA stated.
HURIWA called on all stakeholders in Rivers State to accord the office of the governor the respect it deserves, recognizing the divine will behind Fubara’s leadership. The association emphasized that peace, stability, and unity are essential for the government to implement its developmental agenda effectively.
“Let no one harbor grudges or entertain dissatisfaction over Governor Fubara’s divine selection,” HURIWA continued. “Leadership is not the design of men; it is ordained by God. Any attempt to destabilize the state or undermine the governor’s authority is not only an affront to democracy but also a rejection of the divine will. The people of Rivers State must stand united to ensure that the governor is supported in fulfilling his mandate.”
Governor Fubara’s leadership, HURIWA asserted, comes at a crucial time when Rivers State is poised for unprecedented development. “His administration has already demonstrated its commitment to inclusive growth, infrastructural revolution, and economic empowerment. The divine mandate under which Fubara operates signifies that Rivers State is destined for a golden era of prosperity, stability, and innovation.
“The journey ahead is one of collective responsibility. Governor Fubara is positioned to steer Rivers State towards monumental achievements, but this requires an environment free of political distractions and rancor. His administration must be given the quiet and stability it needs to deliver revolutionary milestones,” HURIWA noted.
HURIWA urged all individuals, including those who may feel sidelined or aggrieved, to embrace unity and forgiveness for the greater good of Rivers State. The association reminded stakeholders that grudges and rivalries only serve to stall progress and diminish the collective vision for a better future.
“Now is the time for healing and reconciliation,” HURIWA declared. “Let all factions and interests put aside personal grievances and unite behind Governor Fubara’s administration. Rivers State deserves the best, and the best can only be achieved when we recognize that the governor’s mandate is not a mere political construct but a divine assignment.”
In a direct appeal, HURIWA encouraged Nyesom Wike and other political leaders to use their influence to foster peace and stability in Rivers State. The association reminded them that true greatness lies not in perpetuating discord but in supporting the divine plan for progress and prosperity.
“Former Governor Wike has played a significant role in the political landscape of Rivers State, but now is the time for him and all stakeholders to embrace a supportive role,” HURIWA concluded. “Let Rivers State be a beacon of unity, progress, and divine purpose for all of Nigeria to emulate.”
Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s emergence, HURIWA reiterated, is a symbol of hope and divine favor. His administration, guided by humility and service, has the potential to transform Rivers State into a model of excellence. All Rivers people are called upon to align with this vision and contribute to the state’s glorious future.
