I have just received the sad news of the death in faraway London of my good friend, Senator Ifeanyi Uba. This is most heart-rending considering that he had visited me in my Abuja office before we flew together on the Air Peace inaugural flight from Lagos to Gatwick Airport, London, on 30th March, 2024 (barely four months ago).

During that trip as can be seen in the video herein, he bubbled with the sap of life like a yam tendril in the rainy season (to borrow the words of late celebrated Novelist, Chinua Achebe, in his epic, “Things Fall Apart“). Death, where is thy sting? With your monstrous visage, why don’t you just leave us alone and stay in your pit of everlasting hell fire? God, grant Ifeanyi eternal repose of his effervescent soul, amen.

I condole with his lovely family, the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the good people of Anambra South Senatorial District that he represented before his demise. I pray to God Almighty to give them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss with stoic equanimity and forbearance.
