Ideye was one of the eight players named for the award. But the Nigerian striker got the prize after securing 29.31 percent of the votes cast, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

Other nominees are Anastasios Bakasetas (Panionios), Luka Milunoviä (Platanias), Anthony Le Tallec (Atromitos) and Dušan Perniš (Iraklis 1908) who filled the top five positions in that order.
