GOVERNOR Rochas Okorocha of Imo State is still reeling in anger over the resounding defeat his party – All Progressives Congress, APC, got in the hands of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Imo State during the March 28 presidential and National Assembly election. An angry Okorocha lashed out at Igbo leaders and the PDP saying that “Igbos are myopic” at a live telecast of the townhall meeting APC had in Owerri Imo State on April 2.

The meeting which was populated by who is who in APC in Igboland including Ogbonaya Onu, former governor of Abia, Senator Chris Ngige, former governor of Anambra State, Okey Ezea, governorship candidate of APC in Enugu State, saw all of them venting their spleen over the outcome of presidential and National Assembly election.

But it was Okorocha’s vehement outburst that attracted most attention when he speared no words in abusing Igbo people of not voting APC. He said that the worst thing PDP had done to Igbos was to deny them the senate president or speaker of the house of representatives in the eighth National Assembly. He explained that if APC had won senatorial seat in Imo or Anambra, the person would have been made the senate president or speaker.

He urged Igbos to vote for APC governorship candidates in the eastern states during the April 11 polls. “If you vote any of the governorship candidates with Buhari as the president, the state will witness development like never before,” Okorocha said.
