Ijaw group hails Walson-Jack’s appointment as Head of Service

PRESIDENT Bola Tinubu has been commended for appointing Mrs Didi Walson-Jack as the Head of Civil Service of the Federation.

Dr Kennedy Tonjo-West, the President, Movement for the Survival of the Izon Ethnic Nationality in the Niger Delta (MOSIEND), made the commendation in a statement in Yenagoa on Wednesday.

Tonjo-West described the appointment as a good omen to the Niger Delta region, saying,”she is an illustrious Ijaw daughter and an asset to the nation”

He said that Walson-Jack showed rare commitment to service delivery in the nation’s civil service while serving as a permanent secretary.

The MOSIEND president expressed hopes that she would implement policies that would trigger innovations and greater efficiency in the system

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Walson-Jack will succeed Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, who would retire from active service on August. 13.(NAN)
